Spanish researchers were able to completely eliminate HIV from immune cells in a petri dish using the CRISPR gene editing tool.
The procedure used by these researchers suggests that it could be possible to cure HIV in human patients.

There is no known cure for HIV/AIDS, making this a startling breakthrough that could eventually save millions of lives.

Surgeons completed the first ever transplant of a genetically modified pig’s kidney into a human patient.
The procedure saved the life of Richard Slayman, a 62 year old man suffering from end-stage kidney failure.
