HUGE ALZHEIMER’S BREAKTHROUGH!

Researchers at Columbia University discovered a genetic variant found in some humans that overwhelmingly reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease.

Individuals with this genetic variant are 70% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s than people without the variant.

WHY IT MATTERS?

  • At least 6 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease.

  • Informed by this finding, researchers will now attempt to create a treatment that mimics the effect of the genetic variant - which could potentially prevent millions of cases of Alzheimer’s.

Researchers at the NIH found that overly tight sports bras decrease oxygen production during exercise - switching to a looser bra was shown to improve women’s ability to breathe and bolster their athletic performance.

WHY IT MATTERS?

  • R&D spending on women’s athletic apparel lags far behind research spending on men’s apparel.

  • Women often self-select a sports bra size that the research finds is too small, and would be better served purchasing a larger-sized sports bra.

CHILDISH GAMBINO ANNOUNCES FINAL ALBUM

Donald Glover appears ready to retire his award-winning alter ego.

Inspired by Prince’s soundtrack for “Batman” (1989), Glover announced this weekend that his next album will be his last as Childish Gambino, doubling as the official soundtrack for his upcoming film “Bando Storm and the New World.”
